Cabbage Patch Kids® were one of the biggest toy crazes in history. So many kids wanted one for Christmas in 1983, there were even fights in stores as parents competed to get one for their child.

Cabbage Patch KidMy Cabbage Patch Kid was a bald preemie. She had quite a few marks on her head that made her easy to identify as mine. When I was 4 I left her in an airport in Myrtle Beach. I was devastated. Seven years later, when I was 11, I came home to find a bald preemie doll sitting on my bed. My mom had been visiting family in South Carolina and found my Cabbage Patch Kid in a flea market. Even though she had on a new, crisp dress, there was no question - it was her.
