PVC Flute

Playing a PVC fluteTime Needed: about 30 to 60 minutes.

Ready!
You Need:

  • Drill with 1/8 bit or hammer and nail
  • 1 to 3 foot PVC 1/4 inch pipe
  • PVC corner piece
  • Pencil

Set!

  1. Attach the corner piece to the straight pipe.
  2. Hold pipe in your hands.
  3. Have a friend mark off where your fingers are.
  4. With the drill or hammer & nail, make holes at the marks.

ONLY MAKE HOLES ON ONESIDE!!!

You're ready to play!

Go!
You play the flute by blowing into the corner piece. Take a finger off the holes and you get a different note! Find the highest note you can make. Find the lowest note you can make.

Experiment! Try making a different flute with shorter or longer piping. What difference would that make?
