Field Trip information

Step 1—Plan Your Visit

School Field Trip Hours

Sept.–Feb.
Tuesday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
Dinosphere opens at 10 a.m.

March–May
Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
Dinosphere opens at 10 a.m.

School reservations are not accepted for peak visitation dates, which include school breaks, holidays, and weekends.

School Group Admission

A minimum of 20 students is required to receive reduced admission.

  • Youths: $5
  • Required adults: Free (one adult is required for every 10 students)
  • Additional adults: $7.50
  • Museum members: Free with member card and ID.

Your reservation should be made for the maximum number of youths and adults expected. Actual attendance will be noted upon arrival, and fees will be charged accordingly. Museum programs, shows, and events are all included in the price of admission.

 Step 2—Registration - 2011-2012 opens Aug. 1

  • Choose three dates that work best for you.
  • You'll need your school's phone number (for your username) and your school's address (for your password).
  • Log-In to your school account. Make sure you know the times and capacities of each of your scheduled programs before completing the transaction.
  • Check Field Trip Brochures for details of special programs.
  • Select your visit date and programs for that date. Remember to add School Admission and a Sack Lunch when making your reservation. 
  • After you register, record your confirmation number/web order number. You will need to reference this number if you call back with changes.

Step 3—Catering

Step 4—Confirmation

Review the information below before your confirmation packet arrives in the mail. If you do not receive your confirmation packet in the mail, email the Customer Service Center within two weeks of registration at customerservice@childrensmuseum.org. The museum's Customer Service Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist first-time visitors and those who prefer personal assistance. Call 317-334-4000 or 800-820-6214.
