Discover the science of flight through the eyes of a young girl and her grandfather as they explore how birds, kites, planes, and models fly.
Learn about the history and future of flight and how NASA is discovering new and safer ways to travel with the help of future engineers and aviators—like you!
participate in a program
We have several programs for students and families to learn about flight!
- Build a model and test it in a real wind tunnel.
- Take a road trip with us to see real models at the Academy of Model Aeronautics in Muncie, Indiana.
- Girls and families can participate in a special program about women in aviation.
- Visit SciencePort to do one of several hands-on flight-related projects.
See the Display
See actual models used by NASA researchers and pilots. Learn how air actually flows over the wings of a plane.
Your family can also see space toys and a real astronaut's suit from The Children's Museum collection.
The display is located on the Lower Level near the SpaceQuest Planetarium.
