Internships at The Children's Museum
This is not your typical internship! Interns at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis work as part of a team, completing significant projects, giving input and seeing results. Whether working directly with children or within administrative departments, interns contribute to the museum’s mission: to create extraordinary learning experiences that have the power to transform the lives of children and their families. To find out about specific internships offered, click on the Opportunities link. Who may apply?  The internship program is open to qualified college students, recent graduates or graduate students. Interns from all majors and interests are encouraged to apply. The most successful interns are interested in working with and for children, have good interpersonal skills and can articulate their goals. The internship program accepts students studying at universities outside of the United States, but the candidates must be at least 21 years old.Is the internship paid? Internships at The Children’s Museum are unpaid. However, scholarship programs are available to qualified candidates to assist with living and academic expenses. Is it possible to get academic credit? The museum encourages interns to seek academic credit for their internships and will assist in any way to help the intern receive it. Contact your advisor or department chair to inquire about your school’s policy. What is the deadline? Internships last the duration of a typical academic spring, summer or fall semester. The museum must receive applications for summer internships by April 4. There are no specific deadlines for submission of spring and fall internship applications. Please note that candidates interested in applying for The Children’s Museum Internship Scholarship for any semester must submit applications according to this scholarship’s deadline schedule.
