Dinosaur footprintNot quite! Trace fossils tell us about animal and plant activity. This dinosaur footprint is a good example. It wasn't actually part of a dinosaur, but it shows that one once walked on this spot. Other trace fossils include animal burrows and droppings, broken egg shells, and stomach digestive stones.
