On October 4, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis will host a special "Town Hall Meeting." This meeting will feature the three Indiana 2004 gubernatorial candidates. Approximately 300 children and their teachers will be in attendance at the Town Hall Meeting, and four classes will be participating via distance learning.
The Town Hall Meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 4, beginning at 10 a.m. and concluding at 11 a.m., and will be held in the Lilly Theatre at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. It is by invitation only. The Children's Museum will be closed that day, and participants in the meeting will not be allowed to tour the museum afterwards.
The Town Hall Meeting will be moderated by Jim Shella, political reporter for WISH-TV, and will appear LIVE on WFYI TV 20 and FM 90.1 on Monday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. The Republican, Democratic and Libertarian candidates for Governor of Indiana answer questions of elementary and secondary students during this special hour-long forum. Staged by the Indiana State Bar Association at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis and distributed by WFYI and the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System to classrooms throughout the state, students participating in the Indiana Kids Election will study the platforms of the three candidates and "vote" for one of them on Election Day.
