Carousel History
Originally, the Carousel was installed in 1917 in Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. The mechanism was destroyed in 1956 when the domed pavilion housing the Carousel collapsed. The animals were salvaged and brought to the museum in 1970. The Carousel is now one of the biggest collection artifacts in the museum!
With all the musical sounds and beautiful colors, it is one no one should miss. It's fully operational, so climb aboard and dream away!
Carousel rides are free to members and all children under the age of 2; non-member cost is $1 per ride.
