Magic Comes to The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis This Summer!
Teenage wizards and witches won’t be the only ones working their magic this summer. Beginning July 5, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is offering Mission: Magic, a unique live magic show, in the Lilly Theater.
Magician Marcus Lehmann has crafted an amazing magic show exclusively for The Children’s Museum. Lehmann and his comic sidekick will dazzle audiences with disappearing acts, floating objects and other baffling illusions that will leave your family asking “how did he do that?” Mission: Magic carries on the spy and illusion themes of the SPYMAKER and Maze-A-Palooza exhibits currently at The Children’s Museum.
Mission: Magic opens on July 5 and will show on Tuesdays through Fridays at 1 and 3 p.m. in the Lilly Theater. Each show will last approximately 30 minutes and is recommended for families with children ages 5 and older. Lilly Theater tickets are complimentary with museum admission and may be picked at the Lower Level ticket booth beginning at 10 a.m. on performance days. Museum members may reserve tickets in advance by calling (317) 334-4000 or visiting ChildrensMuseum.org.
After the show, take your young wizard or witch to view the museum’s own Dracorex hogwartsia in Dinosphere: Now You’re in Their World®. This recently discovered dinosaur species was named, in part, in honor of Harry Potter series author J.K. Rowling. The genus name Dracorex means “Dragon King” and was chosen because the dinosaur bears a close resemblance to the mythical dragon and has a bony head covered in spikes and knobs. The species name hogwartsia was selected to honor the fictional Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry created by author Rowling.
