Power of Children

The following criteria will be used in reviewing and evaluating applications:

Need
  • What need did the nominee address?
  • How did the nominee recognize the need?
  • What motivated the nominee to create this activity/project?
  • Why did the nominee believe the activity/project was important?
Achievement
  • In order to meet the need, what did the nominee do that was extraordinary?
  • What significant event occurred that the nominee was responsible for?
  • How much time was committed to the project/activity?
  • What unique challenges were overcome to achieve success?
  • Did the nominee raise funds and if so, in what amount?
Impact
  • What difference was made because of the nominee’s project?
  • How many people benefited or were affected?
  • What was the length of time of the project/activity?
Further Empowerment
  • What plans does the nominee have to sustain the activity if provided with additional resources?
  • How would these resources be used to gain additional support to sustain his or her efforts?
