Learn More My Own Mr. Bones
The Breakfast Club Mr. Bones Gets Hurt Sun Catcher

Skeleton Sun Catcher

Activity Time:
40 minutes

Education Standards:
Art

Before Getting Started:
Summer is here, and what better way to catch the sun then by constructing your very own skeleton sun catcher! It is a great way to decorate your room and see what your skeletal system looks like.

Materials
Stapler
Tape
Construction Paper (optional)
Scissors
Colored Saran Wrap (Any color or various colors)
Yarn
Hole punch

Step 1:
Print out 2 Skeleton Sun Catcher Worksheets or draw your own skeleton on a piece of paper. Remember that you need 2 pieces of each part of your skeleton.

Step 2:
Cut out the pieces. Also, cut out everything that is colored in black so only the white remains.

Step 3:
You should now have 2 (A) pieces. Cut out a piece of saran wrap just a little smaller than the size of piece (A). Place this between the 2 (A) pieces and staple or tape all 3 pieces together. Assemble the following pieces in the same way: (B), (C), (D), (E), (F), (G), (H), (I), (J), (K), (L), (M), (N), (O), (P), (Q).

Step 4:
Use a hole punch and yarn or a stapler to attach the following parts together:
Attach (A) to (B) (where the head should be on the body)
Attach (C) to (B) (where the arm goes)
Attach (E) to the end of (C)
Attach (G) to the end of (E)
Attach (I) to the end of (G)
Attach (D) to (B) (where the arm goes)
Attach (F) to (D)
Attach (H) to (F)
Attach (J) to (H)
Attack (K) to (B) (opposite from where you attached the skull)
Attach (L) to (K)
Attach (N) to (L)
Attach (P) to (N)
Attach (M) to (K)
Attach (O) to (M)
Attach (Q) to (O)

Step 5:
Make a hole punch at the very top of the head. Tie a piece of yarn to the hole. Hang in the sun and enjoy your Skeleton Sun Catcher!
