	People have always had problems and have invented tools and techniques to solve problems.

2. Bones give your body form for function and protect your insides.

Each plant and animal has different structures that serve different functions in growth, survival and reproduction. For example, humans have distinct body structures for walking, holding, seeing and talking.

The body has systems for digestion, respiration, reproduction, circulation, excretion, movement, control and coordination, and for protection from human organism disease.

3. What you do affects how your bones change and grow.

	Individuals have some responsibility for their own health.
	Nutrition is essential to health. Foods provide vitamins and minerals, essential to keep the entire body working well, and energy and materials for growth and repair of body parts, including bones.
	As people grow up, the amounts and kinds of food and exercise needed by the body may change in order to maintain healthy bones.
	Different substances and activities can damage the body and how it functions.
	There are a variety of careers that relate to maintaining healthy bones.
	Science and Technology are reciprocal. Science helps drive technology as it addresses questions that demand more sophisticated instruments. Technology is essential to science because it provides instruments and techniques that enable observations of objects and phenomena that are otherwise unobservable. top of page

4. Bones have interesting uses in art and culture.

Bones, like many natural materials have been and continue to be used in different cultures in a variety of ways both for practical, artistic and leisure applications.

Skeletons are integral images/symbols in many celebrations and ceremonies.
