Schoenhut's Humpty Dumpty Circus
Clown Names
Did you know that the first three clowns made for the Schoenhut circus were named "Humpty," "Dumpty" and "Crackerjack?" Maybe they were named after the Humpty Dumpty Circus.

Do you think these are good names for clowns? Since clowns fall down a lot to make us laugh, these were funny names. A "crackerjack" means a clever or tricky person.

Clowns made great toys. Several clown toys were made of tin, and some could be wound up to move or do tricks.

What kind of tricks do you think clowns can do?
