The insatiable curiosity of Curious George™ — the little monkey who has captured the imagination and hearts of millions of children and adults for 67 years — comes to life in a new exhibit at The Children’s Museum. The exhibit encourages young children’s natural curiosity as they explore science, math and engineering through hands-on, interactive play. Visitors will recognize familiar characters, including The Man with the Yellow Hat™, and places featured in the classic stories and television series now on PBS Kids.
Curious George™: Let’s Get Curious! introduces children 3 to 7 years old and their families to concepts in science, math and engineering with hands-on play. The exhibit, at The Children's Museum Jan. 19 through Aug. 3, mirrors the PBS Kids animated television series and features familiar places, characters and storylines. Guests to the exhibit will be able to visit the Apartment Building where Curious George lives with his friend, The Man with the Yellow Hat. There, children can operate wheels and pulleys that will move Curious George from window to window. Walk to the Little visitors to Curious George’s world — and their grown-ups — can take a break at the City Park. Babies and toddlers can play at the busy-wall, and kids of all ages can give a hug to and snap a picture with a full-size Curious George! After the park break, the adventure continues with a quick game of Mini Golf designed to teach concepts of physics and engineering. Climb into Curious George’s Space Rocket and sit at the control panel. Take a trip to the country where Curious George has lessons about wind power and caring for farm animals. Finally, visit the Museum Within the Museum to learn about the history of Curious George and his creators.
