WELCOME TO THE LAND of DOKABI!
Jayoung C. Cho, author of Dokabi

The creator of this whimsical quilt gave it as a gift to the museum in 1998. With aspirations of becoming a children's book illustrator, she thought the Children's Museum would be a perfect home for it! It's such a special artifact that we've created this unique virtual experience to share it with you!

The quilt depicts the dreams of a sleeping girl come to life on top of her covers! Her secret dreamland reveals a village of Dokabi, Korean trolls, acting out traditional Korean stories. Whimsical & mischievous, they can be spotted by the colorful horns on the tops of their heads.

Interactive Panorama

If you look closely, you can see horns on the sleeping girl too! The Dokabi village is complete with a water well, train track, river and bridge, three hills representing autumn, summer & winter, houses, trees, flowers and much more. Fly over and explore the entire quilt to see if you can find them. Or, look at some of the scenes up close and learn about the stories the Dokabi have to tell!
