THE BROKEN INKSTONE One day in the school, a teacher had a honey jar and secretly ate the honey.
One of his clever pupils asked what was inside the jar and the teacher told him it was a medicine especially for adults which could become poison to kids. When the clever child found out it was not poison but delicious honey, he shared all of the honey with the other kids in the classroom and broke one of his teacher's favorite inkstones.
He explained that because he accidentally broke the inkstone, he ate the poison so that he would die rather than be punished. The teacher was speechless. He never did tell another lie, even to the very young. |
