The Sun and the MoonTHE SUN AND THE MOON
Once upon a time, there lived a grandmother with a granddaughter and a grandson. Because they were poor, the grandmother needed to go to work in the next village.

The Sun and the MoonOn her way home, one evening a tiger appeared in front of her and demanded the rice cakes which she intended to give her grandchildren. After he ate all her rice cakes, he also ate her up! Then he went to her house and tried to eat up the grandchildren.

The Sun and the MoonThe Sun and the MoonThe sister was clever enough to trick the tiger and escape to the top of the tree. Because the tiger was a bad climber, he continuously fell down to the ground. The younger brother laughed at him and told him how to climb up the tree. In the depths of dispair, the sister prayed to the god of heaven to save them.

So the god threw down a rope. They climbed up and up, to the sky. The elder sister became a sun and the younger brother became a moon.

The tiger also prayed for the rope but he got a frayed rope instead. He fell down and down to the millet field and died.

That was the reason why millet has a red color, from the blood of the tiger.
