Centrosaurus was a large, short-frilled ceratopsian. It had a huge horn
on its snout that was sometimes used for protection. Since the animal was
very heavy, its best defense was to stay low to the ground and try to stab
its predator(s). Centrosaurus's shield had two large fontanelle, and the
back of it often curved forward like bony hooks. This plant-eating dinosaur
grew up to twenty feet long. Centrosayrus lived towards the end of the
Cretaceous time period and has been found in Alberta, Canada and Montana,
United States.
