Explore the essential ingredients of weather.
Ms. Frizzle and her students have gone all-out to create class projects about weather that are fun to play with! You can explore and learn about the basic ingredients of weather: air, heat and water. You can use heat to make Ralphie’s hot air balloon models rise. Compare materials from Tim’s backyard to discover how different surfaces absorb and reflect heat, or animate the water cycle in Wanda’s Watery World.

Fly on The Magic School Bus™ as it gathers weather data.
When you board The Magic School Bus™, you’ll see that it has transformed into a flying weather observatory. See instruments that poke through the ceiling of the bus, windows and portholes that show weather data readouts and flashes of light and motion. You’ll also see all the weather The Magic School Bus™ is visiting through the weather window and bus portholes. At the front of the bus, children can “mix up” the basic ingredients to create the weather seen through the bus’ windshield.

Practice being a Meteorologist.
Walking outside the door of the Bus brings you to the Walkerville Weather Center, where you can help meteorologists predict the weather. Maps, charts, computer screens and telephones provide the information you need to analyze and predict Walkerville’s weather.
