Raise the Roof Every Building Has a Story If walls could talk, what would they say? Would they reveal secrets and surprises? What kinds of extraordinary engineering feats would they bring to light? If walls could talk, they might say, "Humans spend 90 percent of their lives within buildings. It's time they get to know us." Raise the Roof!, is open from Sept. 27, 2003 to Jan. 11, 2004 at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, is your blueprint to uncover the stories behind the fascinating structures. Discover the story of construction science. Visitors who Raise the Roof! are encouraged to investigate the architecture and engineering that goes into starting building projects, as well as maintaining them through the years. Understand how air flows through a structure, learn the tricks of making a skyscraper stand tall, and even raise the roof of a real-life dome. |

Every building has a story, even ordinary buildings, such as homes, banks and grocery stores. With Raise the Roof!, visitors can take a lively look at the structures we greatly depend upon everyday, but rarely think much about. Produced by the Science Museum of Minnesota. The exhibit was made possible with support from the National Science Foundation. Raise the Roof! is supported locally by Shiel Sexton, The Home Depot, Key Bank, Milestone and BAGI. |
