SPYMAKER: My Family to Spy Family

  presents

March 16 – Sept. 3

Come and see if you have what it takes to become a real spy during the U.S. debut of this exciting, interactive exhibit, produced by ‘The Science Of…’ and the London Science Museum! When you arrive at the museum, you will be recruited into SPYMAKER, the world’s top spy school. You and your family will build the skills needed to become a master spy. Can you evade detection with a disguise? Does that dark corner hold valuable information — or a startling surprise? You will need nerves of steel to reach in and find out. Learn to crack codes, observe without being seen and know when someone is not telling the truth.

Hey Teachers,
we have Visit Guides
for your field trips!

Spymaker Garbology
Step inside a surveillance van and see some amazing gadgets. Your family will be amazed by tiny cameras planted in books and buttons or by listening devices planted in pens. Learn how spies and others are using these technologies all over the world. So, ready to be a spy? Your mission is to infiltrate OSTECK headquarters. Who is OSTECK? What are they working on? You and your family will use your best spying skills to discover the secrets that OSTECK doesn’t want you to learn. But be aware, OSTECK has spies too. How does it feel to be spied upon? Can you evade detection long enough to find out OSTECK’s secrets? You will need to retrieve some important information, so be sure to keep your eyes open. Make your way through OSTECK into the future lab. In this space, discover ideas for the spy gadgets of the future. What new tools will future spies use?

Have you completed your mission? Now, you and your family need to escape from OSTECK without being detected. Follow the instructions left by other spies, and see if you can get out without setting off the alarms! As you immerse yourself in this exhibit, you will learn that it takes more than dark sunglasses, a trench coat and a secret dossier to become a spy — it takes stealth, cunning, observation and creativity. You will also see that professional spying requires the use of thought-provoking technology and that modern-day spying is a complex issue that raises many ethical questions as well. See how real spies do what they do, and see if you have what it takes in SPYMAKER.
