Prop Room
Props, it's short for properties. Props are all of the things needed to decorate the set and that are used by actors on stage. Some props are made, some are bought, some are borrowed, some are rented. Most theatres have permanent properties they keep in storage and use over and over. There are personal props, hand props, set props and trim props.

In the exhibit's Prop Department, visitors will be able to explore props and set pieces from The Lilly Theater, The Indianapolis Civic Theatre and Beef and Boards. Labels will challenge visitors to look for props from particular shows, find props they might select if they were going to do a play. An interactive will allow visitors to even activate a few prop special effects. Visitors will even be able to try acting out a scene on one of the most famous set pieces in theatre history, a Romeo and Juliet balcony created just for the exhibit.
