Light and Sound
It takes technicians to operate the magic - light technicians and sound technicians. They sit in a control booth at the back of the theater to work light and sound boards. In our exhibit visitors can experiment with lights and even add sound effects. At our control booth you can try a variety of lighting affects on a mini stage set. The set will be an actual design model from the "Young King Arthur" play in our own Children's Museum Lilly Theatre.

Light the set from above, from stage left or right. Dim the lights for a dusk or evening effect. Add colored lights to see how that changes the look. At the control booth you can also try your hand at being the sound technician. Learn about how lights and sounds work together to create just the right mood for a play. You'll be able to experiment with a variety of sounds to determine just the right mix to help set the tone for a production.
