Dinosaur Science —
Dinosaur Collecting Expedition in South Dakota, July 7 – 12, 2008

Join the dinosaur expedition and teacher Rick Crosslin on this dinosaur expedition for teachers designed to do the science that normally you only read about in your textbooks. Teachers will spend two days collecting fossils for The Children’s Museum at the Ruth Mason Quarry — the largest fossil bed of duck-billed dinosaurs in the world. Then visit the Black Hills Geologic Institute, the Badlands and other South Dakota sites.

Fees do not include transportation cost to South Dakota. Hotel cost and lunches on the days out at the dig site are included. While in South Dakota, transportation will be provided by museum staff.

Family Dinosaur Digs
Plan a western adventure for your family that includes digging for dinosaur fossils in South Dakota.
Join staff experts from The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis on a dinosaur dig in Faith, South Dakota. You can dig for 1, 2 or 3 days at the Ruth Mason Quarry, a privately owned ranch leased by the museum.
Dig Dates are July 2, 3, or 5, 2008
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
$100 per member
$110 per non-member
Costs are per person per day and include lunch at the ranch.
Recommended for families with children ages 6 and above.

Faith is approximately 3 ˝ hours northwest of Rapid City, SD. You will make your own reservations at the Prairie Vista Inn in Faith, SD. This is the only hotel in the area. The phone number is: 605-967-2343. Please state that you are with The Children’s Museum.
