| 4.1.5 |
Demonstrate how measuring instruments, such as microscopes, telescopes, and cameras; can be used to gather accurate information for making scientific comparisons of objects and events. Note that measuring instruments, such as rulers, can also be used for designing and constructing things that will work properly.
There are lots of interesting and common tools found in the Dinosaur Dig Area and Paleo Prep Lab. Have the children use them to gather info about the dinosaurs. |

| 4.4.3 |
Observe and describe that organisms interact with one another in various ways, such as providing food, pollination, and seed dispersal.
At the three different scenes encourage the students to tell you what is going on. Help them to discover that dinosaurs interacted with each other such as when feeding, mating, hunting, nesting, playing and resting. |
Language Arts
| 4.2.2 |
Use appropriate strategies when reading for different purposes.
Help the children to determine some strategies for reading the labels in Dinosphere. Maybe they could pay special attention to words that are bolded or highlighted. Remind them that they are reading for both information and fun. |
| |
| 4.2.4 |
Evaluate new information and hypotheses (statements of theories or assumptions) by testing them against known information and ideas.
Before entering Dinosphere discuss with your students what they already know about dinosaurs. Have them use this old information to ask questions and form ideas about what they will learn in the gallery. |
| |
| 4.7.1 |
Ask thoughtful questions and respond orally to relevant questions with appropriate elaboration.
Dinosphere is a great place for sparking the curiosity of children. Encourage your students to ask questions while both in the space and after spending some time in there. Also be sure to ask them questions as you go through the space and give them enough time to answer thoughtfully. |
| |
| 4.7.2 |
Summarize major ideas and supporting evidence presented in spoken presentations.
Let the children know that after they are done with listening to a presentation, that they will be required to summarize what was said. Then, after joining an Up-Close and Personal, have the students share what they learned. |
