Visual Arts
6.11.1 Identify a wide variety of professions related to art such as: artists and exhibitions, designers and window display, graphic artists and advertisements.

After spending some time in the gallery, ask the students what kinds of art related careers they think are present in this kind of setting.

6.11.2 Identify skills required for various types of art.

Ask the students to describe some of the skills that might be needed for someone who would work in this art gallery?

6.12.2 Analyze and critique art seen at local museums, exhibits, arts performances, and exhibited by visiting artist in the schools.

Allow the students to spend some time just enjoying the works of art in the space. Afterward, have the student collectively analyze and critique the art they see.

6.13.2 Create an integrated art product or performance and analyze how integration of disciplines enhances learning.

At the Art Activity Tables give your students the opportunity to use dinosaurs, the fossils found, and information in Dinoshpere to begin to make a work of art. Use this as the basis of their integrated piece later on. Have them analyze how combining the two disciplines, art and science can enhance their learning about dinosaurs. There are also labels to read in the gallery that reinforce this concept.
