Bernie Dodge, Team National Advisor

Dr. Dodge is a Professor of Educational Technology at San Diego State University. In early 1995, he and Tom March developed the model for WebQuests. A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. WebQuests are designed to use learners' time well, to focus on using information rather than looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.

His main professional focus is on the design, implementation and evaluation of computer-based learning environments. He also guided curriculum development for the Triton and Patterns Projects, Challenge Grants of the San Diego Unified School District.

Bernie is also very involved with schools and teachers. He is the founding president of San Diego Computer-Using Educators in 1982 and later served on the Board of Directors of CUE, Inc.
