You can tell a lot about dinosaurs by their teeth. Many dinosaurs had teeth designed to eat meat. For example, sharp pointed teeth were for tearing meat and crushing bones. Dinosaurs also used their teeth as weapons against predators or other dinosaurs. Dinosaurs also had replaceable teeth. If a tooth was lost, another grew in its place. Dinosaurs with serious injuries to their mouth, jaws and teeth would find it very difficult to survive. |

The brain is made up of billions of neurons. Neurons talk to each other through electricity and chemistry. The brain controls everything we think, do and feel through neurons. The brain controls balance, motor skills (use of arms and legs), eye movements, thinking, and sense of smell, physical reactions, vision, hearing and behavior. A dinosaur brain is very small compared to the size of its body. If the dinosaur brain is damaged by injury or by disease, then the behavior of the dinosauris changed. Brain tumors are tissues that grow inside the skull that do not normally belong there. Depending where they are located, brain tumors can cause seizures, loss of movement, dizziness, loss of vision or double vision, and hearing loss. |

Dinosaurs had strong, powerful legs. Many dinosaurs used their strong hind legs to walk and run. These dinosaurs had short front legs which would not be able to stop the dinosaur from falling if it stumbled or was knocked over. Many dinosaurs have been found with broken ribs, which could have been caused by falling down. This kind of dinosaur moves slower and is among the larger dinosaurs. A serious injury to a hind leg would make movement for the dinosaur very difficult. |
