This WebQuest can be done alone or as a cooperative effort. The storybook can be printed in color or in coloring book form. When the students share with the 1st grade students they can use some of the time coloring the pictures in the storybook.
All processes can be printed so the activities can be completed away from the computer, if necessary.
Other ideas include:
Invent your own mystery dinosaur. What type of dinosaur is it? What is the mystery? What facts will you use to support your mystery?
Older children: What are the key elements of a good mystery story? How do facts make your story more interesting?
Submit exceptional examples of student work to the museum. Selected submissions will be posted on the website.
