See a real cannon from Kidd's shipwreck!

Watch real archaeologists working on real artifacts in the Treasures of the Earth working archeology lab. Visitors can get first-hand look at a real cannon that was excavated from the site of Captain Kidd's shipwreck, and learn about electrolytic reduction, which is how archaeologists process underwater artifacts. Lab visitors can also:

  • Talk with a real archaeologist while she processes real artifacts found at local archaeological sites in Indiana.
  • Participate in hands-on activies led by museum Interpreters that demonstrate the science of archaeology.
  • Watch the museum's curators as they do real conservation work on objects in the museum's collection.
