Enjoy Reduced Admission Presidents Day ($5 adults, $1 youths)

Children and families will learn about the leaders of our nation as The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis celebrates Presidents Day.

Did you know that as a young man, Abraham Lincoln was a talented wrestler, earning himself a place in the Wrestling Hall of Fame? Did you know President James Buchanan regularly bought slaves in Washington D.C. and quietly freed them in Pennsylvania? Did you know President George Washington was unanimously voted into office? That is unimaginable today.

Monday, February 17, 2014, children and families will learn a lot of interesting facts about the leaders of our nation as The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis celebrates Presidents Day.

  • Meet President Lincoln. Celebrate the 203rd birthday and life of our 16th U.S. President, Abraham Lincoln.
  • I Spy a President! Shake, rattle and roll our Presidential Trivia tubes to see if you can find all of the hidden objects while learning cool facts about the American presidents.
  • Presidential Places - Do you know which president was born in Indiana? Try to match United States presidents with their home state.
  • Prehistoric Protein - Thomas Jefferson once studied ancient fossils in his free time. Carry on in his footsteps by discovering a new way to study ancient animals in this special hands-on lab session in the Biotech Learning Center. Touch a real mastodon fossil like the one Jefferson kept in his home!
  • Follow the Drinking Gourd. Experience the journey from slavery to freedom in this special program in SpaceQuest®Planetarium. Learn a special song and see how an enslaved family uses the stars to find “freedom land.”

In honor of the holiday that falls between the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, one-day only special pricing will be offered! General admission ticket prices will be reduced to one Washington ($1) for children and one Lincoln ($5) for adults.
