As a nonprofit organization, the museum provides transformative learning experiences for ALL children and families in our neighborhood, our city, our state, and even those outside of it. Here’s how we’re providing access to every kind of person—from wherever they may be:
Free and reduced admission
First Thursday Night
On the first Thursday of every month, between 4 and 8 p.m., visitors can purchase tickets for $6 to enter the museum.
First Thursday Night gives families the opportunity to enjoy the museum at a reduced price. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time online to save you time when you arrive.
Access Pass Program
We are proud to join forces with other local museums and cultural attractions to make fun family learning more accessible. Indiana families enrolled in CSFP, HIP, Hoosier Healthwise, SNAP and/or TANF can visit the museum—including the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience®—for only $2 per person, per visit.
Access Pass families can discover the extraordinary as frequently as they want. The Access Pass is good for $2 admission at 13 other Indiana cultural attractions and 11 historic state sites. Enroll in the Access Pass program online, or visit the museum or other participating locations to fill out an application and submit the required documents.
Foster family membership
In partnership with the Department of Child Services, the museum is proud to provide extraordinary family learning opportunities for Indiana foster families. Foster families can sign up for a free one-year membership for adults sharing the same household, their foster children, stepchildren, and biological children under 21. To join, visit the museum Box Office and show a valid foster parent license issued by the Indiana Department of Child Services or a Licensed Child Placement Agency.
Neighborhood Club membership
The museum loves to give back to its neighbors! All residents who live within one of the museum’s six surrounding neighborhoods qualify for a FREE membership. Neighborhood Club members receive all member benefits, including a reduced cost for StarPoint camp. To enroll, download the application or visit the museum Box Office with your photo ID, a copy of a utility bill, and/or a copy of a lease agreement to verify proof of neighborhood residency.
Community and family programs
Afterschool Explorer Program
Open to students in grades 3–5 who live or attend school in one of the six Mid-North neighborhoods, this program provides a range of learning and enrichment activities designed to promote the academic, physical, emotional, and social development of youth.
Museum Apprentice Program (MAP)
MAP brings together a select group of teenagers for a unique opportunity to be creative, meet and work with museum staff, get a behind-the-scenes look at the museum in action, and have fun! Only 30 participants are accepted each year.
Old National Bank Mid-North Promise Program
Old National Bank Mid-North Promise ProgramThe Old National Bank Mid-North Promise Program empowers families to reach their educational and career goals by creating family learning plans and connecting them to community resources. The program is open to families who live in one of the six Mid-North neighborhoods.
StarPoint Summer Camp
For over 30 years, the museum has offered neighborhood youth an affordable, curriculum-based summer program. StarPoint Summer Camp is a unique camp available to neighborhood youth ages 6–12 for up to four weeks. Each week is themed according to an extraordinary exhibit or element in the museum and the curriculum is developed by trained museum educators.
