The Children’s Museum Announces Plans to Temporarily Close March 14 through March 28, 2020

Friday, March 13, 2020

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis will close temporarily as a precautionary measure from Saturday, March 14, through Saturday, March 28, 2020, based on Governor Holcomb’s request to limit gatherings to 250 people or less. The museum will re-evaluate the situation during the next two weeks and issue an update on or before March 28, 2020.

The museum also will postpone the re-opening of Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience®. The museum’s preschool will also close temporarily, and all programs and events that were scheduled to take place through March 28, 2020 will be postponed.

“While we have had no presumptive or confirmed cases of coronavirus at the Museum, we have made this decision out of an abundance of caution to protect the visitors, staff, volunteers, and the community at large, whose safety and well-being are our top priorities,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, President and CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “Health and safety is our top priority in everything we do.”

For those who have pre-purchased tickets, the full value of their ticket can be applied to the purchase price of a new ticket of equal or greater value through December 31, 2020. Simply select another date and pay the difference, if any. Those who are not yet ready to select a future date can hold onto their tickets and apply the value toward another admission ticket or a membership at any time through Dec. 31, 2020.
