June 2018 goes down in The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis’ record books as the most highly visited June in the 93-year history of the museum. Nearly 113,000 children and their grownups experienced twelve new outdoor areas in the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience, three new sports-related indoor experiences, and the new DC SUPER HEROES: Discover Your Superpowers temporary exhibit.
Total attendance during the month of June 2018 was up nearly 9,900 visitors from the former highest attended month of June in 2012. Museum members also came in record numbers in June 2018—nearly 67,000 guests enjoyed their memberships, up from the previous June 2015 membership attendance record of nearly 49,000 visits.
“It is thrilling for us to see so many children and families engaging together in our new 7.5 acre Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience, donning their superhero capes to solve capers, and enjoying our five full floors of interactive, entertaining and educational exhibits,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum. “We value every new guest and every returning member, and strive to provide extraordinary opportunities to create family memories.”
Extended summer hours in the new Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience give guests more time to shoot baskets, throw passes, make putts and have fun. The outdoor experience remains open daily until 8 p.m. even though the museum closes daily at
5 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets online, please visit www.childrensmuseum.org.
