Starpoint Camp

Campers engage in themed hands-on activities and projects designed by The Museum’s Family Programs staff, many of whom are former classroom teachers. Campers have access to behind-the-scenes tours, museum exhibits, the Corteva Agriscience STEMLab, and infoZone Library. They participate in Active Play every day in our Riley Children's Health Sports Legends Experience. They have weekly workshops with visiting artists, scientists, and local experts. We typically plan several offsite field trips that connect to our themed weeks. Occasionally an onsite experience is provided in lieu of an offsite field trip. There is no extra cost for your child to participate, and we take school buses for transportation. The buses and drivers are hired from Miller Transportation. 

Each cabin is managed by an experienced educator, a college intern, and a junior staff member. Museum staff are responsible for camp logistics and curriculum. A camp aide will also be present to work with campers in need of additional support.

A morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack is provided for every camper. Campers are allowed to bring their own peanut-free lunches to camp if desired. If your camper has specific dietary needs, adults are encouraged to pack a special lunch for their campers in lieu of the meal provided. Any food items brought from home for lunch are required to be peanut-free.  

Lunch is provided through the Summer Servings Food Program through Indy Parks. 

 

Cost of camp is: 

• $30/week/camper for families who qualify for free/reduced lunches based on their personal household income and/or have an active Access Pass 

• $50/week/camper for families with an active Neighborhood Club membership 

• $100/week/camper for all other families

When do I have to pay the camp fee? 

• Families can charge by phone at 317-334-4000 between 9am – 5pm daily or pay by cash or check in person at the Concierge Desk, Tuesday – Sunday 10:30am – 4:30pm. Payment must be received no later than 5 p.m. on February 15, 2026 to secure enrollment in the camp. 

• Beginning Feb. 16, 2026, a camper(s) spot will be forfeited to families on the waiting list if payment has not been received. 

Enrollment priority is determined using the following criteria:

• Families with a current Neighborhood Club membership  

• 2025 camper in Good Standing (In Good Standing means the camper did not have more than 1 avoidable absence in a week)  

• Families who qualify for free/reduced lunch  

• Families who are currently enrolled in the Mid-North Promise Program  

• Families who are currently enrolled in the Access Pass program 

Some important information for you to know:  

• Point System: Campers will receive points for each of the criteria met to determine enrollment priority. Applications that meet the same criteria will then be randomized to determine placement order. 

• Attendance: Campers may not miss more than 1 day in a week or will lose their In Good Standing status 
• Timeline: All applications are reviewed once the submission period is closed. Acceptance is not dependent on how early an application is turned in.  

*Neighborhood residents include those living in Crown Hill, Highland Vicinity, Historic Meridian Park, Mapleton-Fall Creek, Meridian Highland, and Watson-McCord. 

You will be notified via e-mail by Jan. 30, 2026 if your youth(s) received a spot in camp or not. If your youth(s) received a spot, you will receive details about the weeks your camper is enrolled and the cost of camp.

Yes, there is a waitlist Youth(s) who do not receive a spot will be placed on the waitlist. If any spots open, we will fill from this list. 

• If a camper is a no show on the first day of the week and you cannot be reached, the spot will be filled by youth(s) on the waitlist.
