Colorful Creatures: A Color and Science Workshop with Visiting Artist Koda Witsken

Some modern animals use color as a defense mechanism in nature. Some have bright spots to distract or warn off predators. Others have eye-shaped spots to trick predators into thinking they are larger than they appear. Some animals use colors for their own benefit too - even becoming bioluminescent! In this workshop, families will join Visiting Artist, Koda Witsken, to observe and discuss examples of the unique ways that some animals protect themselves and create their own animal art using at least one color-based defense mechanism found in nature!

The Visiting Artist Program is a project of the Lechleiter Indiana Visiting Artist Fund with support provided by The White Oak Foundation, Sarah and John Lechleiter.
