Chihuly Art
Dale Chihuly is a world-renowned glass sculptor who created the permanent artwork Fireworks of Glass that rises through the core of the museum. Learn how Chihuly designed these pieces and create a Chihuly-inspired piece of art. CAPCOM Go! The Apollo Story
On July 20th 1969, 600 million people around the world gathered to witness a historic moment of human achievement broadcast live from the Moon. These Apollo 11 astronauts were just 2 of nearly 400,000 people who had worked over ten years towards this goal. What did it take to put humans on the Moon? This program takes places in the Space Object Theater. (30 minutes)

Mission Control Team Takeover
Join the team in Mission Control to help with a simulated NASA mission to the moon! Collaborate as a team to work on a hands-on STEM activity and explore the work of real jobs inside NASA's Mission Control. This program takes places in the Space Object Theater. (35 minutes)

Secrets of the Artifact
How can artifacts and archaeology teach us about the past? Students learn new thinking strategies as they use context clues and inquiry skills to identify a mystery artifact and discover more about the past. Choose Egypt, China, or the Caribbean! Pop Culture Characters
Every superhero has a story! In this experience, students explore comic book characters and their biographies. They use art and literacy skills as they create a visual image of their character and construct their backstory. Test Track

Pegboard Engineering
Work on collaborative designs and create prototypes to test out ideas while designing a pegboard marble run. Groups of students will use the engineering design process to complete an age-appropriate engineering challenge. Robotics Challenge
What is a robot and how do humans make them work? Students will work in small groups to explore how robots work and attempt age-appropriate programming challenges using the engineering design process. Geology Tour
Students will make observations of rocks and learn what to look for in order to classify them correctly. They will use a dichotomous key to determine the identity of a rock sample. Sign up for a rockin' good time! (60 minutes) Science: SEP.3

Students will explore 3 diverse ecosystems found in Peru (mountains, coastal hills, and rainforest) through the lens of native birds and how they are adapted to each different environment. Voices of Hope
Experience a recorded actor performance to discover how one inspiring child served as an example of overcoming discrimination and intolerance and made a positive difference in the world today. Performance will be followed by a brief post-show discussion with museum staff to discuss ways in which we can continue to combat discrimination and intolerance and make a difference in the world today. Found Voices
By engaging with stories and artifacts, students explore the circumstances that forced Anne Frank into hiding. Students will connect with her writing by using passages from her diary to create found poems. By looking closely at Anne’s work, students magnify her voice—and find their own. Delve into the museum’s collection of over 130,000 objects to find inspiration. Students will learn about the indigenous peoples of Peru and the impact of pre-Columbian culture on modern day Peru through a look at the Inti Raymi (Sun Festival), the second largest Festival in South America today.
