A Field Trip to Remember
Give your students a field trip to remember at the world’s biggest and best children’s museum complex! Explore five floors of interactive fun all school year and on select fall and spring dates, the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience. We’ll help you customize an immersive, standards-based experience! There’s so much for school groups to do and discover!
Ready to plan your field trip? Call our reservations office at 800-820-6214 or 317-334-4000 and let a museum expert help you plan your field trip. You must schedule your field trip at least two weeks in advance from your visit date. After you've scheduled, you will recieve a detailed field-trip packet by mail.
Due to limited availability, we do not offer online sign-ups. School reservations are not accepted for peak visitation dates, which include school breaks, holidays, and weekends.

Museum Field Trip
Includes all indoor areas of The Children’s Museum
Adult Chaperones: One adult is required, but two are recommended, for every 10 K-12 students. These chaperones are free.
Additional Chaperones: $8.75
Museum members: Free; member number required at check-in
Indiana schools are eligible to receive a reduced admission rate valid for school groups for 20 or more students during the school year. Reservations should be made for the maximum number of youths and adults expected. You will only be charged for actual attendance on the day of your reservation. Museum programs, shows, and events are all included.
Sports Experience Option (Outdoor)
Must be purchased in addition to a museum field trip. Cannot purchase separately. Call 800-820-6214 or 317-334-4000 to add the outdoor sports experience to your field trip.
To visit the sports experience, schools must schedule a 30-minute program. There are three sports programs offered each day. When calling to schedule your field trip, your museum expert will inform you of available programs and times. During the field trip, and after the program, school groups will have 60-minutes of chaperone-guided time in the sports experience.
Students: $2 + standard student admission
Adult Chaperones: One adult is required for every five students. These required chaperones are free. Additional chaperones will cost $2.
Note: School Members recieve a $1 discount per student and per additional chaperone. Become a member school here.
Programs and Planning Brochures
Choose three dates that work best for you then explore available programs and experiences. We offer school programs, events, Lilly Theater Shows, and Schaefer Planetarium and Space Object Theater shows led by our expert team members.
Professional educators design museum experiences around Indiana’s Academic Standards and National Common Core Standards in science, math, social studies, language arts, and the arts to expand the museum visit into a cross-curricular experience.

Students can be a hungry bunch! Choose from these three options for your field trip lunches:
- Bring your own lunches and schedule a 25-minute break in our indoor sack lunch area.
- Dine in our Food Court on your own. Be aware that long lines may be an issue.
- Order catered Food Court lunches* for groups of 50 or more. Choose meals from our school lunch menu or customize your own. Catered lunches are available.
