The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis Launches Local College Student Discount Program with $11 Admission

September 2025 · Back to press releases

Are you a lifelong Hoosier who’s now in college and remembers standing in awe of Bucky the T. rex? Are you an out-of-state resident taking classes nearby and have heard we’re the world’s biggest and best children’s museum? Local Indiana college students can now go to The Children’s Museum for a reduced admission price of just $11!

Starting Sept. 30 – just in time for Fall Break! – local undergraduates can now visit The Children’s Museum for $11, every day, year-round under the College Student Discount Program. Whether you're craving creativity, nostalgia, or simply looking for a budget-friendly study break, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is inviting local college students to explore, reflect, and rediscover the wonder through grown-up eyes.

“We’re thrilled to launch our new College Student Discount Program, making it easier for young adults to experience the joy, wonder, and curiosity that happen every day at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis,” said Jennifer Pace Robinson, president and CEO. “By offering an affordable admission option, we hope to inspire the next generation of educators, artists, activists, scientists, and more as they reconnect with the power of play, spark their imagination, and re-discover childhood magic.”

The full list of central Indiana colleges and universities eligible for this discount includes: Anderson University; Ball State University; Butler University; DePauw University; Franklin College; IU-Bloomington; IU-Indianapolis; IU-Kokomo; Indiana State University; Ivy Tech (Indianapolis-area campuses); Indiana Wesleyan; Marian University; Martin University; Purdue University-Indianapolis; Purdue University (West Lafayette); University of Indianapolis; Rose-Hulman Institute; Taylor University; and Wabash College.

Current undergraduate students must show a valid student ID to one of the listed schools at the Box Office to obtain the $11 admission day-of. There are no blackout dates, and the discount is not available online.

Whether you or your college student is into science, space, paleontology, humanities, art, world history, pop culture, sports, or social issues – there's something for everyone and to complement any field of study.

More information on the College Student Discount Program can be found at https://www.childrensmuseum.org/college-discount. Check the website for seasonal closure updates throughout the year; The Children’s Museum is closed on Mondays starting Sept. 8.
