Celebrate 100 Years at The Children’s Museum and Party All Night Long at The Second Century Soiree!

August 2025 · Back to press releases

The Second Century Soiree on Aug. 22 is our biggest celebration yet—honoring 100 years of inspiring children and families while launching the next century of impact at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Presented by Purdue University, the Second Century Soiree is a one-night-only fundraising event that will transform the museum into a once-in-a-lifetime party with special guests, live entertainment, cultural performances, immersive experiences, themed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and fun surprises around every corner. General admission tickets are available for purchase here.

The Second Century Soiree is a black-tie, adults-only museum-wide celebration—a chance to dress up, let loose, and relive the joy and curiosity of childhood with a grown-up twist. All exhibits will be open to explore with something extraordinary happening in every corner, from a fashion show in Take Me There®: Peru to an epic silent disco in Dinosphere®! Guests can even take a late-night ride on the Centennial Ferris Wheel, which will be lit up in sparkling colors.

Full of behind-the-scenes fun too, attendees can hear from partners like civil rights icon Ruby Bridges, meet with Ryan White’s mother and AIDS activist Jeanne White Ginder, learn from our visiting artists and scientists – and an astronaut! – and get an insider’s look at the tech powering our mission, from 3D fossil scanning to VR-designed exhibits. You’ll even get a sneak peek at how we’re reimagining our most iconic galleries for the museum’s second century. The evening will crescendo as Rex and Indy’s sports mascots escort you outdoors to a dazzling drone show finale that fills the sky with light, motion, and magic.

As we commemorate 100 years of sparking memories, wonders, and dreams, the Second Century Soiree marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter into our next 100,” said Jennifer Pace Robinson, president and CEO. “We look forward to a special and unforgettable evening that reflects the museum’s mission to ignite joy, wonder and curiosity. Your support empowers us to continue inspiring generations to come at The Children’s Museum.”

All proceeds from the Second Century Soiree will support future projects that embolden the museum's mission to serve children and families in meaningful, transformative ways – this includes our Second Century Vision plan, which will introduce major new exhibits and an expanded community outreach program.
