Our Alamosaurus family—Yvonne, Greg, and Diana—is geared up and ready to roar into May! Throughout the month, Yvonne (the mother Alamosaurus) is wearing a larger-than-life winner's wreath while standing next to a giant bottle of milk—the
iconic Indy 500 victory celebration drink. To help us celebrate the arrival of the fastest month of the year, two-time winner (and defending champion) Josef Newgarden and INDYCAR and Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles stopped by. Josef even signed the giant milk bottle for us.
Here are a few highlights from the unveiling.
“These dinosaurs are a great reminder that inspiration comes in many forms...The next Indy 500 winning driver, crew chief, or engineer could be visiting The Children’s Museum today to learn more about science, math and technology.”
Doug Boles, president of INDYCAR and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Curious how we made this wreath and giant milk bottle? Check out
this behind-the-scenes time-lapse video!
Of course, the fun didn't stop there! Josef visited our outdoor sports wonderland—the
Riley Children's Health Sports Legends Experience®—with a local school group. He shared his book,
Josef's BIG Dream. And then they took a few laps around
the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Pedal Car Racetrack Experience, our version of the world-famous Brickyard that includes a yard of bricks and Pagoda Control Tower.
Here are some video highlights from the day.
Did you hear that? Because we sure did!
Here, let's repeat it, just in case you somehow missed it:
"We absolutely love coming to this museum."
Josef Newgarden
We love you, too, Josef. Thanks for hanging out with us again this year.
Best wishes as you pursue your third straight Indy 500 victory.

Explore History
In 1991, Willy T. Ribbs became the first Black driver to qualify for the Indianapolis 500, breaking a long-held color barrier. The race car that he drove in 1991 and again in 1993 is on display in The World of Sports on Level 1.
Take the A.J. Foyt Pit Stop Challenge
Did you know that A.J. Foyt probably would not have won the first of his four Indy 500 victories without the ingenuity of his pit crew?
In this fun family challenge, you'll learn about the importance of the pit crew, test your reflexes and speed, and finish the challenge with an epic relay race! Check the Daily Activities web calendar for days and times.
