May means racing in Indy—and at The Children’s Museum! Our outdoor sports area will transform into a racing wonderland in the inaugural SpeedFest. Mark your calendars and plan on zooming to the museum for a day of high-energy racing-themed activities.

SpeedFest is included with museum admission and is weather-dependent.

SpeedFest activities:

11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Foyt 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speeday Pedal Car Racetrack (see details below)

11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Play a racing-inspired game of musical chairs on the Indiana Pacers and Fever Basketball Experience

11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Kids Riding Bikes will be here with their racing simulator

11 a.m.–2p.m.
First Tee will be on the replica Brickyard Crossing #10 hole running a closest to the pin challenge with prizes in the Pete and Alice Dye Golf Experience

Noon–1 p.m.
Race against the clock on our Indianapolis Colts Football Experience—make a pass and then slash through the gridiron gauntlet to score a touchdown!

Noon
Join us on the Soccer Field for Gasoline Alley, a fun soccer skills competition. Test your skills to see if you can keep your car on the track and avoid sending it to Gasoline Alley

Foyt 500 information

The Foyt 500 will take place during SpeedFest. Winners will take home some pretty cool hardware. Here's everything you need to know.

Location:
Indianapolis Motor Speedway Pedal Car Racetrack

Age groups:

• 5 & under
• 6-8
• 9-11
• 2-14
• 15-17
• 18 & up

Schedule*:

11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. 
Foyt 500 Qualifying. The fastest four times in each age group will qualify for the Foyt 500

1 p.m.
Foyt 500 driver introductions, opening ceremony, and the waving of the green flag

1:45 p.m.
Victory celebration and presentation of trophies
