Welcome to New Orleans
As you enter the exhibit, you’ll be immediately transported to 1928 New Orleans where Tiana and her krewe are preparing for a Mardi Gras season parade—and she needs your help!
Everything was coming together beautifully until the krewe discovered that their parade begins an hour earlier than they planned.
Food-Themed Float
Join Tiana in pretend play by preparing her daddy’s special gumbo recipe with sausage, chicken, and shrimp, while learning about its New Orleans history. Louis hosts you as you explore the food-themed float with a giant gumbo pot and oversized veggies, create your own hot sauce by selecting ingredients, and tend a children’s garden with vegetables and herbs for a full culinary adventure.
Music-Themed Float
Help Prince Naveen and the Bayou Community Band rehearse by playing percussion alongside interactive Rara and Zydeco loops, and decorate the music-themed float with fireflies, waterlilies, and more. Keep an eye out for Lari the armadillo and his found-object instruments, discovering hidden surprises along the way.
Eudora's Chic Boutique
Make a stop at Eudora’s Chic Boutique to help design bead patterns for the parade queen’s cape and assist Charlotte in adding sparkle to Mardi Gras masks. Grab a paintbrush to add color to the nearly finished mural and create your own float costume designs to make each look unforgettable.
Royal-Themed Float
Watch the royal-themed float come to life and learn step-by-step second line dances with on-screen tutorials so the whole family can dance along. Make pretend sno-balls with Mama Odie, choosing flavors that light up in vibrant colors.
Join Tiana in celebrating the Mardi Gras season parade and a job well done as the floats all light up in a magical way!
