Dinosaur Toys

In 1967 Montreal hosted Expo '67. I was 8 years old.

My father had bought us "Passports" which were season passes to the exhibition. We went every weekend that summer, oh-so-long-ago.
There were many, many things for an 8 year old to see in thoses days. But, by far, my favorite thing was the 25 cent plastic dinosaur "molding machine". Yup, for 25 cents you got to choose the coloured block of plastic that was then dropped into the dinosaur mould that you chose. A little heat, a little pressure, and POP - out came the coolest toy on the face of the earth (at least for this 8 year old): an almost-too-hot-to-touch, freshly moulded t-rex or stegosaurus or brontosaurus (that's what we called 'em back then - way before Jurassic Park).
I always found some way to get a quarter to buy a dinosaur every visit.
