The BUTTER Fine Art Fair is a multi-day fine art fair anchored in Indianapolis that centers the care and economic viability of Black visual artists.
It’s an event full of artwork, live music, dance performances, poetry, DJ sets, custom merch, expert talks given by local, national, and international guest speakers, and more.
We are proud to work with BUTTER to help provide free admission to BUTTER Fine Art Fair to everyone 17 and under all weekend long, inspiring children to explore art and culture. We also continue to work with BUTTER to create an expanded Education Day that provides hundreds of local students the opportunity to experience art through free field trips to the event.
From our
Indiana Visiting Artists program to acauiring and displayin gtheir work
in exhibits and other places throughout the museum, we have partnered with many BUTTER Fine Art Fair artists over the years.

Each year, the museum recruits exceptional artists with Indiana ties to publicly present and teach their work. The artists interact and inspire children and families with art exhibits, displays, and hands-on workshops. The Indiana Visiting Artists shown here have also presented their work at BUTTER Fine Arts Fair.

From 2D art to live theater—and everything in between—we offer a breadth of artistic expression opportunities and experiences that provide access to art and creative expression, sparking creativity and inspiration in children and grown-ups of all ages every day!
