Dale Chihuly is a world-renowned glass sculptor who created the permanent artwork Fireworks of Glass that rises through the core of the museum, as well as the accompanying Pergola Ceiling. Experience how Chihuly designed these pieces. Create a Chihuly-inspired piece of art. (45 minutes)

Peruvian Textile Art
In this program, students will learn about the art of weaving in Peru, including the materials and processes used, and create their own Peruvian-inspired textile art. (45 minutes)

Secrets of the Artifact
How can artifacts and archaeology teach us about the past? Students learn new thinking strategies as they use context clues and inquiry skills to identify a mystery artifact and discover more about the past. Choose Egypt, China, or the Caribbean! (45 minutes)
Grades 6–7
Peruvian Culture: Inti Raymi
Students will learn about the indigenous peoples of Peru and the impact of pre-Columbian culture on modern day Peru through a look at the Inti Raymi (Sun Festival), the second largest Festival in South America today. They'll also create a work of art inspired by Inca mythology and metal working practices. (45 minutes)
Grades 6–8
Making Your Mark: Protest Art
Learn about the tradition of protest art and how artists have used their art to share a message, particularly regarding the Black Lives Matter mural in Indianapolis in 2020. Students will work in teams to plan their own work of protest art. (45 minutes)
Grades 3–6
Centennial Chatterbox Challenge
Engage in object-based inquiry and practice language and literacy skills of collaborative discussion. Students will use the prompts from our folded paper Centennial Chatterbox (also known as a fortune teller or cootie catcher) to explore and discuss objects in the Memories, Wonders, and Dreams: Stories From 100 Years exhibit. (30 minutes)
