Halloween Happenings at Access Pass Attractions

It’s the spookiest time of the year and the Access Pass attractions are ready with these scaretacular events and activities. As always, Access Pass cardholders can get into any Access Pass attractions for $2 per person, per visit. Be sure to check each attraction for additional admission costs for special events.

Corn Maze at Conner Prairie

If you can’t make it to the Headless Horseman events at Conner Prairie this fall, you can still experience some of the autumn fun with the 11-acre corn maze open during normal museum hours. The maze features three paths, including a new scary, haunted path new this year, and costs $5 for non-members.

Halloween Hullaballoo at Angel Mounds

Angel Mounds, part of the Indiana State Museum’s historic sites, will play host to Halloween Hullaballoo on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. If you’re feeling brave, test your courage on the haunted trails. Other less-scary activities include games, crafts, corn maze, hayride, and trick-or-treating. Tickets for the event are $5 per person and can be purchased here.

History Happy Hour: Grave Matters at Indiana Historical Society

On Thursday, October 22, join the Indiana Historical Society for a History Happy Hour to discuss cemeteries and their role in history. The event takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will dive into the meaning of cemeteries and how that meaning has evolved over the years. Register for the free event here.

The Science of Star Trek at WonderLab

Captain Kathryn Janeway may not be born until 2336, but WonderLab is getting the party started early! Virtually celebrate the unveiling of the Janeway statue on the B-line trail on Saturday, October 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. Compete with other partygoers to see who knows the most Star Trek trivia, groove to the theremin’s sweet sounds, and discover the science behind some of Star Trek's most iconic technology. Don't forget: cosplay is the way, so gear up and come in your best Star Trek costume. The event costs $10 per person for Access Pass members and includes a Deep Space Essentials Kit. Real-Life Hauntings at Access Pass Attractions

Even if you don’t believe in the paranormal, during this time of the year it’s always fun to play along and enjoy a good ghost story or two. Some of the Access Pass attractions have their own tales of unexplained happenings, so gather around for some terrifying tales and plan a visit to do your own investigating.

Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites

The New Harmony State Historic Site has had reports of ghostly activity since 1845, including phantom piano playing, lights turned off and on, and apparitions. At the Corydon Capital State Historic Site, visitors have claimed to see a lady in red and hear footsteps when no one else is around. The Culbertson Mansion and Indiana State Museum have also experience paranormal activity. The Culbertson Mansion has taken its haunted reputation to a new level and created Literally, A Haunted House, where on Friday and Saturday nights in October you can brave the haunted halls of the home.
