Being Mindful of What Your Family Eats Is Making A Healthy Difference at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

New menu items make it easier for families to eat healthier and track results at the world’s largest children’s museum. You may know the museum, along with its food provider Sodexo, became the first attraction in the nation to receive the Kids Live Well designation from the National Restaurant Association. Now, the museum is adding more healthy options.

About Mindful:

Mindful is an integrated health and wellness approach that combines great-tasting foods, simple-to-understand nutritional education and the latest technologies such as MyFitnessPal and FitBit, which enable customers to easily track their food and activity. Sodexo’s company-wide program has been rolled out in Corporate, Government and Health Care accounts nationwide, and just launched its Leisure debut at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis this month.

About the approach:

Good health: most people want it, many people struggle with it. Sodexo’s new approach to wellness is shifting the paradigm from depriving yourself to be healthy. The concept is all about eating more of what’s good for you by filling your plate; or, by getting big flavor with things other than salt or indulging with balance. That’s Mindful.

Mindful meals assure the most food volume (so you feel full) and nutrients for a given amount of calories. Though nutrition is at the center of Mindful, overall health and wellness is just as important. Dietitians and health experts everywhere agree that daily tracking of physical activity and food intake is the single biggest tool for success in any health, diet or fitness program. That’s where partnerships come into play with MyFitnessPal and Fitbit.

It’s integration like this technology, or the insight of our dietitians for the education portion that is making the big difference for Mindful. (http://mindful.sodexo.com/).
