Three Attendance Records Shattered at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

History was made at the world's biggest and best children’s museum on Thursday, April 4, 2013.

More than 19,000 children and families enjoyed Spring Break, exploring five floors of fun, imaginative exhibits at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

The museum broke its single day Spring Break attendance record, as well as its records for most visitors to Target Free Family Night and most visitors for a combined general admission day/family free evening.  On the first Thursday of every month, Target sponsors a free admission evening from 4 - 8:00 p.m.   Museum hours April 4th were 10 – 8:00 p.m.

“We are thrilled that thousands of families from our wonderful city, as well as hundreds, if not thousands from miles away, are choosing our museum to enjoy their vacation time together,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “We always strive to provide families and children with extraordinary experiences that create everlasting memories. It’s an honor to see our visitors recognize that.”

Cultural Traveler Magazine recently ranked The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis as one of the 2013 Top Ten Cultural Finds in the United States. Parent Magazine also ranked The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis as a Top Ten Must-See museum.  Two months ago, Livability Online cited Indianapolis as one of the Top Ten Best Spring Break Destinations for families.
