The Great Slide: Summer Celebration of China at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

The slide is back with a brand new look at the world’s largest children’s museum.

Instead of pine trees and ornaments, holiday presents and lights, this slide is decked out with faux cut stone and a tower to resemble the Great Wall of China.

Loved by children and adults during Jolly Days, the slide whisks families from the 2nd level of The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis to the main floor. From June 7–Aug. 10, families are invited to zoom down the full-story slide and pass through a re-creation of the Great Wall tower!

It’s all part of a summer celebration of Chinese history and culture featuring the new exhibits Take Me There:® China and Terra Cotta Warriors: The Emperor’s Painted Army.

The Great Wall in China spans an estimated 13,000 miles. Many people don’t realize it has an alpine type slide which whisks tourists down a twisty, five-minute ride along the face of the mountain. The re-created slide is 47 feet long.
